TANKAR-Coffee grows wild in our small family gardens. Imagine a coffee plant that grows in its indigenous area, having lots of space, bird singing in vicinity, surrounded by many different plants, protected by trees, fertilized by surrounding legumes and life stock.

Our small garden farms are family-owned. Our families harvest from their private one to two acre gardens land – our garden farms have the size of a soccer field. But they are filled with bananas, beans, coffee, peanuts, passion fruits, mangos, pineapples, avocados, tomatoes, ginger and even beehives. All these different plants provide not only enough fertilizers and protection against bugs, some people also they that you can taste this biological diversity in TANKAR-Coffee. A strong and complex taste, really sweet and with a dark soul.

Every family is harvesting only a few plants per garden. Therefore they have more time for caring and tending - a must in order to fulfil our high and demanding TANKAR-Coffee quality requirements. We do not use any chemical fertilizers or pesticides – those are solely needed in big monocultures as diseases can spread more easily.

For producing a high-quality taste plants need to grow slowly to have enough time and energy captured in its beans. We tender our coffee like wild coffee to ensure the same indigenous slow-growth famous for wild coffee plants: just a few plants per acre, surrounded by fertilizing legumes like beans, shaded by banana-trees and the mild Highland climate.
